Your Sun Devils gave their best tournament performance in years at the Western Cup this past weekend! After inclement weather relocated the tournament from Tempe to an indoor facility in Glendale, ASU emerged from their pool undefeated after beating Boise State, the University of Arizona, the Silicon Valley Skrewts, and the Utah Crimson Flyers.
The big challenges came in day two with bracket play, when ASU beat out the Thundercats and secured their bid to the upcoming World Cup. The Sun Devils then played back to back games, coming away with wins against both the Long Beach Funky Quaffles and former Western Region champions UCLA. This placed your team in the finals versus the Los Angeles Lost Boys - and although they lost, it was a great, hard-fought match!
Bringing home second place, a World Cup spot, a 7-1 tournament record, and the title of the Best Team in Arizona, ASU couldn't be prouder!
It's finally here! Western Cup - the regional qualifying tournament for World Cup 2014 - begins tomorrow! Your Sun Devils will be facing off against elite competition from across our region.
But because nothing is ever easy, there has been a shocking amount of rain in the Valley as a whole. Due to these inclement conditions, the tournament has been relocated to the Arizona Sports Complex. The address of this indoor field is 3555 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Glendale 85281.
Games will begin at 3pm and go until 11pm. We'll see you there!
That's right - our annual Yule Ball formal dance is right around the corner! Mark your calendars for December 7th, 2013 at 7:00pm.
